Revisit Your Past To Appreciate Your Life Right Now

Sometimes we need a physical reminder of just how far we have come. Today led me back to my old neighborhood and a quick reminder of just how far I have come. Don’t worry we are still on a quarantine so it was a drive by visit. A few years ago I felt like I was in a full fledged game of survival. I was working long hours and a full time single parent. I was exhausted and miserable.

It took a long time to get myself out of that place and to the state that I call living. I worked at setting boundaries between work at home. I set the intention of taking time for myself. I took time to figure out who I am and all of the things that I enjoy. I surrounded myself with people that would help me grow. I read and absorbed every piece of personal development that I could. I learned how to take care of myself. I learned to ask for help and to delegate to make life more manageable. I became more mindful of what I needed and then I sought what I needed.  I learned the importance and meaning of actually “living”.
